Obesity and Pregnancy
If you are obese, it means that you are seriously overweight as a result of having too much body fat. Obesity during pregnancy is associated with many serious conditions like pre-eclampsia, a life-threatening condition that affects both mother and child. Being overweight puts you at a greater risk of having a larger than normal baby, which can make it more likely you'll need a cesarean section.
If you are obese and pregnant, there are some steps that you can do to help reduce the health risks to you and your baby. If you are obese, consider losing weight through diet and exercise before planning to get pregnant; however, even if you are obese, you should never try to lose weight if you are pregnant. Weight loss during pregnancy can prevent your baby in getting the necessary nutrients for proper development. Instead, focus on achievingmoderate but healthy weight gain. Another thing is exercise; you should talk with your healthcare provider about the appropriateexercise levels for you. Exercise can help to minimize the risk of potential pregnancy complications.
There are many measures that you could choose from if you want to prevent obesity. It is just a matter of choice!
