White Kidney Bean

The White Kidney Bean named for it's shape, is a large, white, meaty bean preferred for chili, also good in soups, salads, and casseroles. White Kidney beans are called cannellini, and are a typical ingredient in Italian dishes such as minestrone.

If these kind of beans aren't a regular part of your diet, you're missing one of nature's truly perfect foods. The plant stores an abundant complex of carbohydrates and is also a rich source of protein, as the matter of fact, beans contain a higher amount of protein than any other plant food. It is true, that the protein is incomplete, but with a fine touch it can easily be complemented by adding rice or other grains, nuts (or, for non-vegetarians,
a small amount of animal protein, such as chicken, fish, cheese, or yogurt) to your daily meal, in order to supply the missing amino acids.

As the Folk Medicine reveals, it is also good for acne, bladder, burns, cardiac, carminative, depurative, diabetes, diarrhea, diuretic, dropsy, dysentery, eczema, emolient, hiccups, itch, kidney, rheumatism, sciatica, and tenesmus.
